About Grace

Grace Hrabi

Grace Hrabi is a vocalist from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She began studying jazz and improvisation in High School and soon realized her passion for performing and arranging. Upon graduating she was accepted into the University of Manitoba's School of Music to study classical saxophone. During her first year of study two jazz musicians (Steve and Anna-Lisa Kirby)moved from N.Y to Winnipeg and began to build what is now the U of M Jazz Studies Program. Having had a small amount of jazz singing experience in High School Grace auditioned for a small ensemble. After spending an entire year studying both jazz and classical performance it became apparent which style she was more passionate about. She changed her major and began her studies again with a vocal concentration studying with Jazz vocalist Anna-Lisa Kirby for 5 years.

Since graduating from the Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba in 2008 she has performed at many restaurants (Resto Gare, Fude, Prairie Ink), events and private functions in and around Manitoba.

She has spent the last few years creating original compostions and arrangements which showcase her unique vocal quality. In 2009 she travelled to Montreal where she recorded the vocal components for a new electronic-pop album which was released fall 2009.
